Télécom Paris is opening a tenure-track Associate Professor position in Quantum Machine Learning, based in Palaiseau, France.
The position is hosted by the S²A group (machine learning, statistics and signal processing, LTCI / IDS department), with close support from the Quriosity team in quantum computing and quantum learning theory; fostering collaboration between the two is part of the role. The research focus is quantum statistical learning in both directions — learning methods for quantum information processing, and quantum algorithms for learning — including inference on structured and functional data, and algorithms exploiting quantum resources for scaling.
We are not looking exclusively for an established expert in QML. Strong candidates in statistical learning who are motivated by the questions raised by quantum computing are very welcome. Requirements are a PhD, a publication record in machine learning, teaching experience and good English. French is not required, only a willingness to learn it; teaching is mostly in English.
The recruitment is supported by Hi! PARIS (IP Paris / HEC Paris, French national AI Cluster), and the successful candidate receives a starting grant for their research.
