Two Postdoc positions for applications of machine learning in quantum information technologies

We have opening for two theoretical postdoc positions (initially for two years with possible extensions) in the subject of machine learning applications in quantum information technologies. The projects include applications of machine learning in quantum simulation, quantum sensing and characterizing many-body systems in and out of equilibrium. The projects will be conducted in collaboration between three faculties, namely Profs. Xiaoting Wang, Zizhu Wang and Abolfazl Bayat, in the Institute of Fundamental and Frontier Sciences (IFFS) at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu.


The candidates should be under the age of 35 and have a background in computer science, physics or mathematics. Previous experience with numerical methods in many-body quantum physics or optimization is highly desirable.

Salaries and benefits:

The starting salary is RMB 250000/year, or about 2500 euros per month after taxes. The salary is negotiable and can be significantly higher depending on the research experience of the candidate. The university also provides an annual RMB 10000 travel allowance and purchases medical insurance for all non-Chinese employees.
