We use laser-cooled atoms and optical tweezers to investigate the dynamics of entanglement and the interplay of quantum mechanics and gravity. Our experiments rely on entangling interactions using ultra-cold Rydberg atoms in optical tweezers. Our current investigations cover aspects of entangled matter wave interferometry, new possibilities for intelligent quantum optimization in the control of multi-level (qudit) quantum systems, spatio-temporal control of qubit arrays, and an exploration of the trade-offs of computational complexity versus robustness with entangled atomic spins. We are investigating these ideas in laser-cooled strontium and cesium optical tweezer testbeds. We collaborate extensively on these projects with other research groups in universities, companies and national laboratories, and are constantly seeking new opportunities.
