Join the Quantum Software Lab at the university of Edinburgh as a Fully Funded PhD student!

The Quantum Software Lab at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, is excited to announce the availability of at least seven fully funded PhD by research positions in the field of Quantum Computing

During your doctorate, you will be a valued member and integral part of our quantum computing team (led by Dr. Christian Gogolin) within the Digital Research & Development department at Covestro. The position comes with the offer to be associated with the group of Prof. Dr. David Gross at the University of Cologne, which would award the degree. Arrangements with other supervisors and host universities are possible. As a PhD candidate, you will be given opportunities to contribute to collaborations with Google Quantum AI and the quantum computing startup QC Ware.

About the job
Quantum Computing is one of the newest and potentially field-changing disciplines. While much research is being done on how to create quantum-based systems, software engineering for quantum computing and software-engineering using quantum computing are still in their infancy.

The project aims to optimally allocate available quantum and classical resources a developer needs for a specific algorithm, by breaking larger circuits into smaller pieces that are distributed to different quantum processing units in parallel, with few quantum connectives between them, and then recombining the results.

Are you considering a career in quantum technology? Applications for Sydney Quantum Academy (SQA) PhD Scholarships are open until 2 October 2023.

Undertake cutting-edge research with leading quantum experts at four of Australia’s top universities — UNSW Sydney, Macquarie University, the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney.

As a Sydney Quantum Academy PhD scholarship student, you'll become part of a vibrant and welcoming student community at the forefront of the fast-growing quantum technology industry.

We are looking for a Quantum Compiler Developer who will join our team of Quantum Engineers and Physicists creating next generation quantum computers. The role involves mainly the development of algorithms and implementation of features to compile optimization problems to various types of quantum hardware making use of the ParityQC architecture. The compiler is a central component of our software product ParityOS, which translates optimization problems from their raw mathematical formulation to a complete quantum program.
