The School of Mathematics and Physics of Queen’s University Belfast seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Quantum Information Theory by March 1st 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter. The University of Warsaw, Faculty of Physics, seeks to fill nine research positions supported by the project Photonic implementations of quantum-enhanced technologies starting on 1 January 2010. The project, funded under the TEAM programme operated by the Foundation for Polish Science, will focus on controlling quantum phenomena in photonic systems to enable new modes of information processing and communication.

This post is available for 5 years to undertake research in the broad area of Quantum Information Theory including quantum optics, fundamental issues in quantum information processing, and cold atom physics which can complement and strengthen the existing research within the Centre for Theoretical Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics.
