2 PhD and 2 PostDoc positions are available in the ion trapping laboratory at Palacky University in Olomouc, Czechia. The positions will be funded within the 5 year Centre of Excellence and are available in the following research directions:
- engineering of quantum nonlinear interactions between photons and phonons in trapped atomic ions,
- realization of the photonic coupling between ions in Paul traps and optically levitated nanoparticles,
- development of the molecular ion source with Helium nanodroplets precooling for quantum logic spectroscopy.

The position is supported by the TCG CREST. The quantum algorithms group at the Institute for Quantum Computing Analytics (PGI-12) at Research Center Jülich is offering a PostDoc position in the field of application focused quantum algorithms. This entails the extension, development and analysis of new quantum algorithms for near-term and fault tolerant quantum computers, investigating potential quantum advantage of such algorithms in real-world scenarios as well as developing optimal compilation methods and tailored quantum algorithms for noisy quantum computers.
