We are looking to appoint a motivated researcher to work with Dr. Madalin Guta and Prof. Juan P. Garrahan at the University of Nottingham, on the EPSRC funded project entitled “Statistical Theory of Controlled Quantum Dynamics”.

Position

The Theory of Controlled Quantum Systems (ToCQS) group at Trinity College Dublin is seeking to appoint a skilled and motivated postdoctoral fellow. The position is available immediately and is funded for 3 years in the first instance, with the possibility of extension subject to satisfactory performance. The starting salary is in the range €45-€50k per annum (depending on experience), with yearly increments of approximately €1.2k. The position also comes with an allowance for travel and computational equipment.

Research topic

Project: The project aims to advance the theory of superconducting processors for accurate modelling. A special focus will be on finding and characterizing the Hamiltonian of a large processor using numerical analysis. This project is part of my commitment to the European Research funding for making 100+ qubits, called OpenSuperQPlus (https://www.opensuperqplus.eu )

We are looking for an outstanding and enthusiastic postdoc with a background in quantum information theory, machine learning and or AI and open to collaborate scientifically with people with different scientific backgrounds.
The postdoc is expected to work in classification, discrimination, verification of quantum states, quantum processes and quantum channels using quantum algorithms, AI and quantum machine learning. The appointment will start at the earliest convenience and will last 2 years.

This is part of the project Distributed Quantum Computing & Applications (UK EPSRC) under the supervision of Mario Berta (Visiting Reader), jointly with Roberto Bondesan and Kin Leung. Please see
