The Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna announces the position of a

Professor of

Theoretical Quantum Optics

(full time position under private law, limited to a period of 3 years). The University of Vienna intends to increase the num­ber of women, particularly in high-level positions, and therefore specifically invites ap­­pli­cations by women. The Department of Physics is seeking a scientist with an international reputation in theoretical Quantum Information Technology (QIT) to advance the University’s ground-breaking work within the field.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute strongly to maintaining and enhancing the School’s high standards in teaching and research. Candidates should have a commitment to high-quality teaching in service and honours mathematics to a broad range of students.

Salary will be within the professional range, minimum £56,467 per annum depending on skills and experience.

£33,230 - £44,607 per annum depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance
