Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces one post-doc and one Ph.D.-student positions in theory of quantum information processing with photonic continuous variables, funded within EU Quantum Flagship and a national research project. The research will be applied to quantum communications and experimental-theoretical collaboration with the leading experimental groups in the field is foreseen. The positions are in the Quantum Communications sub-group, led by Dr. Vladyslav Usenko, within the Quantum Optics Theory group of prof. Radim Filip.
Applicants for the post-doc position are expected to possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field of study, have previous experience in theoretical continuous-variable quantum information and/or quantum optics.
Applicants for the Ph.D. position are expected to have a Master’s or equivalent degree in a relevant field of study.
All applicants are expected to be capable of efficient communication in English.
An applicant should provide a structured CV, including list of publications and specifying research interests.
Selected applicants will be then requested to provide copies of their diplomas and recommendation letters from their Ph.D./Master supervisors.

Conditions:
• Post-doctoral position is offered for the period of two years starting from January 2019 with a possible one-year extension.
• Ph.D.-student position is offered for the period of four years starting from January 2019.
• The gross pay for the post-doctoral position is equivalent to ca. 2 000 Euro per month.
• The gross pay for the Ph.D.-student position is equivalent to ca. 1 200 Euro per month.
