Open Postdoc Fellowships at the Erwin Schrödinger Centre for Quantum Science and Technology (ESQ)
The Erwin Schrödinger Center for Quantum Science and Technology ESQ invites applications for
five two-year postdoc fellowships. The selected fellows can join any of the ESQ research groups affiliated with the University of Vienna, the Vienna University of Technology, the University of Innsbruck or the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information in Vienna or Innsbruck.
ESQ groups are working on the foundations of quantum physics and quantum optics, on quantum computing, simulation, many-body physics, communication, sensing and metrology. They study photons, ultra-cold atoms and molecules, trapped ions, defects in nanodiamonds, superconductors, clusters and biomolecules, levitated nanoparticles, nanomechanical devices and hybrid quantum systems. This call invites young researchers who, by January 31st 2020, have completed their doctoral degree or acquired at least four years of full-time research experience. Candidates may not have resided or carried out their work or studies for more than 12 months in Austria in the 3 years preceding the application deadline.
• The call deadline is 31 January 2020.
• A preselection will be made by 31 March 2020, based on the submitted documents.
• The finalists will be invited to Vienna to present themselves to the 7-membered international selection committee on 7 and 8 May 2020.
• Selected candidates can start their work by 1 July 2020 and no later than 1 November 2020.
