The Quantum Information group at Ruhr University Bochum led by Prof. Michael Walter is hoping to recruit several doctoral students and/or postdoctoral researchers. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary and internationally well-connected team. At the Faculty of Computer Science at Bochum, you can expect a vibrant scientific environment and many opportunities for interaction with the cluster of excellence CASA and the newly founded Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy. We offer three-year full-time positions for MSc graduates; the expectation is to work towards a doctorate. Postdoctoral positions are offered for two years; there is the option to extend the position.
Ideally, you already have a background in Quantum Information and/or Theoretical Computer Science, and a strong interest in learning more about these areas. We value creativity, mathematical rigor, and openness to interdisciplinary collaborations.
We require a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics (or equivalent) and an above-average track record during your studies. In addition, we require fluency in written and spoken English. Postdoctoral candidates should already have published relevant papers at recognized conferences or journals in the field.
