The Light-Matter Interactions Unit (https://groups.oist.jp/light) at OIST Graduate University on the beautiful island of Okinawa, Japan, is seeking applicants from Europe or the US intersted in applying for a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (http://www.jsps.go.jp/english/e-fellow/postdoctoral_short.html) to work with them. The research areas that we cover include atom trapping, plasmonics, optical nanofibers, nonlinear optics, optical trapping, and whispering gallery resonators for optomechanics. Full details can be seen on our webpages. If you are interested in submitting an applictation to JSPS please contact Prof. Sile Nic Chormaic in order to discuss opportuntiies and project ideas. The Light-Matter Interactions Unit is an international group of researchers with diverse backgrounds with a common goal of devising novel trapping schemes based on micro- and nano-optical components. The Unit was established in 2012 and has excellent research facilities including direct access to a nanofabrication facility on-site at OIST. We would be very happy to welcome you to join our team!
