WOMEN IN SCIENCE: This is your chance to get a two-years PostDoctoral Fellowship (with flexible conditions, research expenses and support for childcare) to join the dynamic and young Quantum Stochastics & Information group at the University of Nottingham (Dr G. Adesso, Dr I. Fuentes, Dr M. Guta).
Announcement. Applications are invited for a total of 2 University of Nottingham Anne McLaren Fellowships, which are targeted at exceptional female scientists and engineers who are typically under-represented in these subjects, and wish to establish a research career in the UK. The Fellowships are a recognised first step into an independent research career, and are funded by the University of Nottingham’s Research and Knowledge Transfer Board. Fellowships will commence in October 2011.
About the Quantum Stochastics & Information group at the School of Mathematical Sciences, University of Nottingham. Building on the tradition of quantum probability and quantum stochastic calculus (Prof. V.P. Belavkin), our current interests include: theory of entanglement and quantum correlations, and their applications for quantum optical communication and many-body physics; relativistic quantum information; quantum statistics, metrology and estimation; and much more. We maintain active collaborations with the gravity group and the new Midlands Ultracold Atoms Research Centre at Nottingham, as well as with a number of theory and experimental groups in UK and worldwide. We are currently 4 staff members, 1 postdoc, 8 PhD students.
Please get in touch with Gerardo Adesso (firstname.lastname@example.org) for expressions of interest, before November 8, 2010.
