The Photonic Quantum Information Processing (PQuIP) group at the University of Ottawa is looking for candidates for a PhD student position with focus on Light-matter interaction for quantum applications. The group has a broad range of interest from quantum communication and networks to quantum metrology and computing. We will theoretically explore light-matter interfaces such as atomic ensembles, cavity QED, defects in solids, and Rydberg physics for various applications in quantum communication and metrology. If you are interested in joining us, please send your CV and latest transcripts to 'khabat-dot-heshami-at-uottawa-dot-ca'.

Our group is based at the National Research Council of Canada and is a member of the NRC-uOttawa Joint Centre for Extreme Photonics (JCEP). This is an excellent environment to work in close collaboration with world-leading experimental groups. This project is in collaboration with a network of researchers across Canada through NSERC’s Alliance program.
