I am currently seeking an outstanding candidate to join my group at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT USA. The position will focus in quantum cryptography, quantum information theory, and/or quantum networking; however you will have a lot of flexibility to pursue other quantum-related research projects or interests. Position pays over $34K USD per year depending on qualifications.
I am searching for someone who is self-motivated and with preference for someone who knows the fundamentals of quantum communication/computing/or cryptography (though this is not required for first year students if you are willing to put in the extra effort to learn the fundamentals). Knowledge of core CS courses is not required (though you will have to take some classes for the CS PhD). See my website at:
for a list of my publications and more details on my current research. I'd be happy to chat with anyone potentially interested to provide more details on the position and life in Storrs CT.
Quantum positions in computer science, both in academia and industry, are growing rapidly in the north-east USA. I am happy to talk with anyone about the opportunities available after the PhD in the area.
