The Quantum Information group (Department of Computer Science, Paderborn University, Germany) in the Faculty for Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics is seeking a:
Research Associate (PhD student)
(pay scale E 13 TV-L)
This is a full-time position for work on “Many-body Entanglement, Classical and Quantum Error Correction, Holographic codes, and Quantum networks”, available immediately for a fixed term of three years. An extension of the contract to complete the doctoral dissertation is possible. The exact starting date is flexible.
Candidate’s profile:
*) A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics
*) Basic knowledge of quantum physics (e.g. quantum mechanics, quantum information, quantum computing)
*) Prior experience in programming and numerical methods is preferred
*) Fluent English in writing and speaking
The following will be needed:
*) A motivation letter (1-2 pages ideally)
*) Curriculum vitae (CV) with emphasis on academic achievements and contact details of two referees
*) Certificate of average grades for all the degrees
*) At least one recommendation letter

This is a newly established research group led by Dr. Zahra Raissi at Paderborn University in Germany. Paderborn is a beautiful city in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
