Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD research fellowship in theoretical physics in the Quantum Light and Matter Group, at the University of Southampton.
The position starts November 2012 and it will deal with investigations of light-matter interaction in confined geometries. Three thematics that will be susceptible to be object of investigation will be:
THz lasing from symmetry breaking: arXiv:1204.4053
Ultrastrong light-matter coupling: arXiv:1209.5273, arXiv:1111.2486
Quantum optomechanics: arXiv:1011.6295
The fellowship includes founding for travel and conferences and the fellow will be expected to interact with experimental groups both locally and worldwide.
