The Quantum Many-Body Systems Division (Prof. Bloch) at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics is seeking applicants for PhD positions within the group. The research of the group is focused on the field of ultracold bosonic and fermionic quantum gases with a special interest in strongly correlated quantum systems, quantum information processing and quantum optical applications. We are looking for highly motivated students with a masters/diploma degree in physics, ideally with a background in the field of quantum optics or condensed matter physics, although applications from outside the field will be considered, too.
