This fellowship is offered through the Macquarie University Node of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS) [http://equs.org/]. The position is for 24 months from the start date and is available now. The Fellow will conduct independent research and work with EQuS researchers at Macquarie University under the supervision of A/Prof Gavin Brennen, Prof. Jason Twamley, and Dr. Thomas Volz. There is opportunity to collaborate with the Volz diamond experimental group and more broadly within EQuS and its partner institutions around the world. The position will involve: modelling of quantum spins in colour centres in diamond and other spin systems, designing new protocols for quantum enhanced sensing and quantum simulations, and investigating quantum control of long lived nuclear spins.

Requirements
* Postgraduate qualifications (PhD level or equivalent) in physics, engineering, or a relevant discipline.
* Proven record of research in the theory of quantum coherent control of spin systems with potential applications in quantum metrology, quantum simulation and quantum memories, as demonstrated by international reputation, research publications and presentations, external research grants, or other relevant indicators.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct research collaboratively and independently.
* High-level communication, inter-personal, and communication skills.

Post-doc starts at level A step 6, salary AUD$83,344 per annum + on costs.
