PostDoc positions in experimental Quantum Simulation and Quantum Hybrid Systems @ IQOQI Innsbruck

Applications from highly motivated researchers are welcome to apply for a postdoctoral position in the group of Gerhard Kirchmair which is located at the Institut for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information and at the Experimental Physics departement of the University of Innsbruck. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics or a related field and ideally have a strong background in experimental quantum physics and/or nanofabrication.

Possible research topics are the development of a quantum hybrid system using superconducting qubits and a micromechanical oscillator or the setup of a circuit QED system to simulate frustrated Spin models and study their phase transitions.

The researchers at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Innsbruck carry out broad theoretical and experimental basic research in the fields of quantum optics and quantum information. Seven research groups are currently engaged in research in Innsbruck. Close cooperation with leading figures from all over the world within the discipline, numerous publications in top scientific journals and many international awards make the IQOQI Innsbruck a key player in the ground-breaking field of quantum physics. The independent research institute has close links to the University of Innsbruck. This facilitates lively discussions and cooperation in particular between students and young scientists and it integrates the work of the IQOQI into university teaching.

Applications - containing CV, publication list, past research achievements, brief motivation letter including future research plans and contact details of at least three potential referees - should be submitted electronically to [[gerhard.kirchmair@uibk.ac.at]].
