The Quantum Information Theory group at KAIST (Department of Physics, PI: Changhun Oh) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in theoretical quantum computing and quantum error correction in photonic devices.

Research topics (include but are not limited to):
- Theoretical quantum computing
- Quantum error correction and fault tolerance in photonic / continuous-variable systems
- Photonic quantum advantage (e.g., boson sampling), Gaussian and non-Gaussian circuits, GKP codes, etc.
Position details
- Term: 2 years + possible 1-year extension based on performance (2+1 years)
- Start date: sometime in 2026 (flexible and negotiable)
- Location: KAIST, Daejeon, Korea
- Salary: commensurate with experience and according to KAIST regulations
Qualifications
- PhD in quantum information, quantum computing, quantum optics, theoretical physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or related fields (PhD to be completed before starting date)
- Background and/or strong interest in at least one of: photonic/CV quantum information, quantum error correction, complexity of quantum systems, classical simulation of quantum devices
- Ability to write and present research in English
