About QC Design:
QC Design is a quantum computing startup that provides design software and architectures for useful and scalable quantum computers. We are on a mission to enable mankind to build the ultimate computing machines limited only by the laws of physics.
We’re a 10–15 person team of scientists and engineers specialising in quantum computing with strengths in quantum software, hardware, and fault-tolerance. We’ve built not only proprietary architectures for scalable quantum computing but also Plaquette, the world’s most powerful quantum error correction and fault-tolerance design software. Plaquette is being used by top quantum hardware manufacturers to design fault-tolerance architectures and logical-qubit demonstrations.
Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to QC Design’s business and public-funding efforts.
You will be responsible for helping make our fault-tolerance offerings more useful by listening to existing customers, and you will help bring in new customers and partners. Specifically, you will:
Gain an in-depth understanding of the quantum hardware industry and QC Design's fault-tolerance design software and architecture offerings.
Coordinate technical demonstrations of our fault-tolerance design software to prospective customers.
Help ensure that our customers love our product by learning customer pains and gains, and coordinate with the product team to address these.
Identify new market opportunities for our fault-tolerance software and architectures.
Identify relevant public-funding opportunities and work with the R&D team to draft compelling applications. Foster strategic partnerships with hardware manufacturers and academic groups via the resulting funded projects.
Communicate about QC Design’s software and architecture advancements via technical papers, blog posts and other relevant channels.
Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance awareness about our offerings.
What we’re looking for
Master’s or PhD degree in physics, computer science, mathematics or fields related to quantum computing. Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor’s degree will also be considered.
Experience in quantum computing is required. An understanding of quantum hardware or quantum fault-tolerance is preferred.
Interest in learning broadly about the quantum computing industry.
Ability to write complex information clearly and concisely. Experience at drafting peer-reviewed articles and grant applications is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to learn fast and adapt to the changing demands of a startup environment.
Virtues and soft skills: ownership, high standards, enthusiasm, resourcefulness, follow through, collaboration, kindness.
What we offer:
As a part of the core team of an early-stage startup, you have an opportunity to learn fast and to make a major impact on our products and the future of quantum computing.
In this role, you will become an expert in the landscape of the quantum hardware industry and more generally in deep-tech commercialization.
We offer a competitive salary and top-of-market stock options.
We offer flexibility in terms of working hours and work from home options, allowing you to work in a way that best suits your needs.
We strive to maintain a great working environment for everyone involved.
Diversity:
We welcome you to apply for this role regardless of your race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or any other aspect of your identity. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported. So, if you are excited by the mission of designing the ultimate computing machines limited only by the laws of physics, we encourage you to reach out to us.
Location:
Location within Germany is preferred. Remote work can also be considered.
