General Responsibilities: Plans and executes a high-quality research program in an important technical area which is aligned with Telcordia's business direction. Provides leadership on complex research and development projects requiring originality and ingenuity. Provides training and guidance to less experienced researchers. May have an M.S. but typically has a PhD in field of interest.
Major Duties & Functions: Successful applicants will perform research within a multidisciplinary team including industry, government and academic partners, focused on defining and answering critical questions pertaining to Quantum Computing and Quantum Communications.
Required Qualifications: Quantum Information Scientist
Telcordia invites applications from exceptional theorists and experimentalists to immediately fill up to three quantum information science positions in our Applied Research organization. We welcome both Research Scientist and (full-time or part-time) Visiting Scientist applicants. The positions are for one to two years, renewable contingent upon funding. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in working and interacting with both experimentalists and theorists. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Successful applicants will work with a multidisciplinary team including industry, government and academic partners, focused on defining and answering critical questions pertaining to Quantum Computing and Quantum Communications.
Desired Qualifications: Excellent communication skills highly desirable. Familiarity with classical computing and communications systems a plus.
