The Physics Graduate Program of the Federal University of Santa Catarina has two positions for visiting foreign professors in the fields of both experimental and theoretical physics working in the following research fields: Astrophysics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Quantum Optics and Quantum Information, Condensed Matter, Statistical Mechanics, Mathematical Physics, Quantum Field Theory, and Nuclear and Hadron Physics.

Ph.D. degree;
A covering letter specifying his/her research interests and experience in consonance with research topics of the program;
The application must be endorsed by a letter of a permanent professor of the Graduate Program.
The positions are for one year and can be extended for up to three more years. The starting date is negotiable, but should be no later than 2017, September.
Salary
The gross monthly salary in Brazilian currency (Reais) is R\$ 15.137, 91 and the net value is approximately R\$11.500,00, which amounts to US$ 3,500.00 (see current exchange rate).
Qualifications
We are looking for enthusiastic and active senior applicants (Ph.D obtained more than 5 years ago) to develop research, supervise and teach in our graduate program. It is desirable that the applicants have a permanent position in a foreign institution, aiming future collaborations and possible exchange of students and researchers.
