Quantum algorithms and complexity group at the University of Latvia

Research type:

The group is interested in a variety of topics related to quantum algorithms and quantum computing (design of new quantum algorithms, lower bounds for quantum algorithms, algorithmic aspects of quantum communication and quantum cryptography, quantum non-locality and quantum Hamiltonian complexity), as well as non-quantum topics in theoretical computer science.

The group is lead by prof. Andris Ambainis, a well known expert in quantum algorithms, and currently consists of 2 faculty members, 4 postdocs and a number of graduate students. The group is supported by an Advanced Grant from European Research Council (ERC, Europe's organization for funding top-level scientists) and also participates in two research networks (QALGO and RAQUEL) funded by the EU's Future and Emerging Technologies program.
