Theoretical Nanooptics (KIT)

Research type:

In the theoretical nanooptics group we explore the possibility to control the properties of light by means of micro- and nanostructured materials. We apply this opportunity to enable applications previously inaccessible or to significantly enhance already existing applications. In our work we rely on a large variety of different numerical and theoretical tools and on the close interaction to a large variety of experimental and theoretical groups that work in the same scientific area. In our group we focus on many different subjects such as plasmonics, optical nanoantennas, metamaterials but particularly also on quantum optics.
