The Department of Physics and Astronomy in Sheffield (UK) are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to become a member of the Low Dimensional Structures and Devices group in the Department to work on the EPSRC funded project "Optical Quantum Communication." The project's goal is to develop protocols for optimizing eavesdropping strategies for optical quantum communication. You will work under the direction of Dr Pieter Kok.

The symposium is intended to intensify the link between the basic research areas of photonics and atomic ensembles. Leading scientists in the fields of quantum communication protocols, quantum memory and quantum repeaters, atomic ensembles, Rydberg atoms and photonic QIP will discuss new promising approaches to quantum information and communication technologies and their physical challenges.

ERATO-SORST Quantum Computation and Information Project, funded by Japan Science and Technology (JST) Agency, conducts wide area of research related to quantum information science. We proceed our studies in collaboration with active research groups on quantum information theory and experiment in U. Tokyo, NII, NEC Labs, and other research organizations.
