The goal of this workshop is to meet and engage with experts across physics and computer science to discuss how these disciplines intersect in the study of complex systems and emergent behavior. This workshop explores how information processing and dynamic systems reveal complementary perspectives on emergent phenomena. Discover how simple rules can lead to the complex, unpredictable behaviors observed across physics and computer science. Inspired by cellular automata, we will discover how simple rules may manifest in intriguing emergent phenomena such as phase transitions and neuronal mechanisms.

The University of Bari (Italy) is expanding its research activity in quantum information science and technology.

We welcome applications from candidates interested in any aspect of theoretical quantum information science and technology. We currently have vacancies for up to six research fellows (deadline January 4th, starting date March 1st, 2023).

Selected candidates will be hired as fixed-term researchers (3-year, a more senior position than postdoc) and will be free to decide their research activities, within a wide range of “quantum” options.
