Yu-Tsung Tai is a Ph.D. candidate double-majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science at Indiana University, Bloomington. He primarily works on quantum computing, especially, finding a mathematical foundation compatible with the basic principles of both quantum mechanics and computer science. To find this common foundation, Yu-Tsung and his advisors focused their study first on discretizing quantum mechanics, especially quantum theories and computing over finite fields. They then incorporated the idea of measurement precision, which doesn't exist in digital computers but exists in analog computers, into quantum mechanics, and studied the quantum interval-valued probability measures. By achieving these researches, Yu-Tsung expects to receive his Ph.D. degree around December 2018.
