Gunnar's research focuses on emergent phenomena in strongly interacting quantum systems. He develops an array of numerical methods, including exact diagonalization, Monte-Carlo, and tensor network approaches for studying these systems. He obtained his PhD at the University of Paris XI, held several postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Cambridge, and now holds a prestigious Royal Society University Research Fellowship and a Lecturer position at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK.
