Wednesday, August 30, 2023 to Friday, September 1, 2023
We are delighted to announce workshop 3 of INSQT, which will focus on the space quantum internet. Distributing entanglement across a quantum network is a precursor to enabling distributed technologies that can improve performances in quantum sensing, imaging, and computing. This workshop will review efforts in developing global quantum networks that are capable of supporting these distributed challenges. The workshop will focus on the role of key components and enablers of quantum networking within this architectural framework such as quantum memories.
Quantum communications are revolutionising the way we transmit information and connect remote parties. Leveraging on the quantum properties of photons and on the tools developed for optical communications, it is now possible to distribute quantum coherence and confidential information to distant users, thus shaping the future quantum internet.
The Theory of Quantum Materials and Solid-State Quantum technologies group at the Materials Science Institute Madrid (ICMM) is seeking well-qualified, highly motivated, and dynamic young scientists at PhD and Postdoc level in theory and simulation of hybrid semiconductor-superconductor systems , including quantum devices like qubits. We seek persons with interest in condensed matter theory, quantum computing, etc. The project involves a close collaboration with state-of-the-art experimental labs.
DESCRIPTION
A 4-year PhD position is available, on the resource cost of quantum computing, focused on full-stack aspects and fundamental hardware considerations. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the CQT PhD programme. The project is part of the ANR-NRF “QuRes” project and will be co-supervised by Associate Prof. Hui Khoon Ng (Yale-NUS, MajuLab, CQT) and Dr. Alexia Auffèves (CNRS, MajuLab, CQT). It contributes to the international effort of the recently launched Quantum Energy Initiative.
The Lewis-Swan atomic, molecular, and optical physics(AMO) theory group at the Center of Quantum Research and Technology (University of Oklahoma) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher working on theoretical problems in quantum simulation and many-body non-equilibrium physics. Topics of interest will include dynamical phase transitions, entanglement, quantum coherence and information scrambling.
