In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of novel quantum algorithms aimed at approaching nonlinear partial differential equations. In particular, you will work within the MIHYSYS project, which aims at understanding the potentialities and limitations of quantum computing to approach super and hypersonic flows. This research includes the development of strategies to contour limitations of NISQ variational quantum algorithms, as well as performing end-to-end resource estimations for early FTQC algorithms considering realistic hardware constraints of different technologies. You will work in close collaboration with french startups of the quantum ecosystem, and contribute to the design of an internal roadmap on quantum computing for aerospace applications.

Equal1 has built a spin-qubit quantum processor, and we are now developing the algorithms and application workflows that will demonstrate and define future use cases for next generation devices.

We study how fault tolerance can be realized under realistic conditions, designing circuits, developing simulation methods, and analyzing noise at the circuit level. We aim to connect theoretical insights with practical feasibility, developing techniques that move fault tolerance closer to realization. By building tools, models, and architectures, we provide a bridge between abstract principles and the requirements of physical quantum processors.

At neQxt, our theory team explores the principles that make scalable quantum computing possible. We focus on logical-qubit systems: developing quantum error correcting codes, decoding methods, and logical gate constructions, and studying the mathematical structures that underlie them. Our work aims to deepen the understanding of how fragile quantum information can be preserved over long timescales and across large systems. By advancing the theoretical foundations of quantum fault tolerance, we contribute to both the science of quantum information and the long-term vision of reliable quantum computing.
