Several PhD scholarships (both theory and experiment) are available through the Macquarie University node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQuS) http://equs.org/. Each 3-year scholarship covers the national/international tuition fees (International: 42,720 AUD/yr), and provides an annual stipend of 27,082 AUD. The PhD provides support for travel and research costs and opportunity for frequent interaction with researchers and students in the other nodes of EQuS. Six PhD positions in theoretical quantum optics and quantum information science are available at the Centre for Quantum Optical Technologies (QOT) at the University of Warsaw. Successful candidates will work in a diverse environment including theorists and experimentalists on fundamental properties of quantum systems, such as quantum coherence and entanglement, and their applications in quantum technologies, such as quantum metrology, sensing, communication, and computation.

PhD opportunities are available for work in quantum information theory at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
The main areas of interest are quantum walks and quantum games, with also possibility of work on quantum coding theory.
