The Department of Mathematics of the University of Bologna has opened a call for 12 PhD scholarships in Mathematics starting on November 1, 2023.

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to work on theoretical aspects related to the mathematics and physics of open quantum many-body systems. The research will focus in particular on:
- the development of numerical methods based on tree-tensor networks
- the simulation of open many-body quantum systems with long-range interaction
- the characterisation of quantum phases and phase transitions
The Centre for Quantum Engineering, Research and Education (CQuERE), TCG CREST, Kolkata is inviting applications from interested candidates for the PhD in Science program on quantum sciences and technologies with emphasis on quantum computing and quantum sensing. The nanoelectronics theory groups at Forschungszentrum Juelich and RWTH Aachen are looking for highly motivated candidates to fill a Ph.D. position. The position can start immediately. The PhD candidate will conduct research on theoretical aspects of quantum machine learning and circuit QED.
