A number of PhD and Postdoc positions are open in the newly founded theoretical and mathematical physics group of Prof. Daniel Burgarth at FAU in Erlangen, Germany. We are interested in quantum control, open quantum systems and mathematical structures with applications in quantum technology. German knowledge is not required. We hope to build a friendly and diverse group driven by open ended curiosity and passion. We are particularly looking for applicants with good pencil and paper skills for analytical calculations. A PhD position is available at Trinity College Dublin in the group of Prof. Felix Binder, to start in September 2023. The position is fully-funded, including tuition fees, a monthly stipend, and access to travel funding.
