The Quantum Information Group and The Security Innovation Centre at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow (max. 2 years) to develop the Quantum safe lab based around the IdQuantique Clavis system. KG Zloshchastiev's group at the Institute of Systems Science, Durban University of Technology, located in the city of Durban, South Africa, opens the visiting positions for 2017. Visits are funded by the National Research Foundation of South Africa through the Durban University of Technology. Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in the group of Andris Ambainis at the Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia. Our research group is interested in the following research topics:
- quantum algorithms and complexity theory;
- quantum communication, quantum information theory and cryptography;
- connections between quantum computing and classical computer science (using ideas from quantum information to solve classical problems);
- using ideas from quantum information to study physical systems.

This is a fellowship scheme funded by Aberystwyth University, the Welsh Government and the European Union. It is aimed at researchers with 3-5 years post-PhD experience and comes with a 3 year appointment. To be eligible, you have to have spent no more than 12 months in the UK over the last three years (0 months is fine!), and applications can be from anywhere in the world. At the moment, I am collecting expressions of interest only; there is a two-stage proposal involved in this but chances are quite good.

Two fellowships are offered in research into quantum algorithms for simulation of quantum systems, including quantum chemistry and quantum field theory. The positions are for 24 months, and are available now.

The Stanford Institute for Theoretical Physics (SITP) invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position in quantum information science. Areas of interest include core quantum information subjects such as algorithms, communication and fault-tolerance, in addition to connections with other branches of physics. The research group is led by Patrick Hayden, with active participation by other SITP researchers Xiao-Liang Qi (condensed matter), Steve Shenker (high energy theory) and Lenny Susskind (high energy theory).

Postdoctoral opportunities to work at the National University of Ireland, Galway
