Applications for invited for a Research Fellowship within the Oxford Martin Programme on Bio-Inspired Quantum Technologies. This Programme, directed by Professors Vlatko Vedral and Dieter Jaksch, aims to develop a new methodology for overcoming the extreme fragility of quantum memory by learning how biological molecules shield fragile quantum states from the environment.

Applications are invited for an EPSRC-funded postdoctoral position in quantum information theory at Heriot-Watt University, to work with Dr Erika Andersson on quantum digital signatures. The work concerns investigating the security of novel schemes for quantum digital signatures. The position is fixed-term and for 16 months, possibly 18 months, and the starting date is between 1 April 2013 and 31 September 2013 by mutual agreement.

The KZN node of the South African National Institute for Theoretical Physics (NITheP) has one postdoctoral vacancy in the field of Open Quantum Systems and Quantum Information Processing and Communication.

The appointment will be made within the structure of the University of KwaZulu- Natal on a one–year contract basis, with the possibility of renewal for two additional years. Preferences will be given to candidates working on the application of the Theory of Open Quantum System to the design and implementation of quantum computers.

The Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw invites applications for research fellowships and research professorships in photonics and quantum science. A suitably qualified and experienced individual is required to carry out research on experimental Atomic Physics and Quantum optics. The research is contributing to the efforts of the international QuILMI consortium that aims at building and characterising a Quantum Light and Matter interface with cold atoms and integrated waveguide structures. Candidates must have a PhD in physics and experience with experimental manipulation of ultracold atomic gases, atomic physics and quantum optics.
