We offer a fully funded 3-year PhD Student (f/m/d) in Machine
Learning for Quantum Computing and Simulation of Quantum Matter. The
successful PhD candidate (f/m/d) will be part of the interdisciplinary
DRESDEN-concept Research Group AI 4 Quantum which is currently
established at the Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) of
the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) and the Center for
Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Dresden/Leipzig
(ScaDS.AI) at the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS)
of the TU Dresden. In this project, you will learn to develop and apply
novel deep machine learning (ML) methods, neural network and artificial
intelligence approaches to extend the reach of accurate computational
methods to study strongly correlated quantum matter. The focus will be
the development of novel Neural Quantum States, deep learning approaches
to design quantum computing (QC) algorithms, and AI and ML techniques to
improve state-of-the-art quantum Monte Carlo methods.

Quantum Certification Conference+ (QUACC+) aims to attract and
promote young researchers from all over the World. This is the second
edition of the event that took place in 2023, but its formula has been
extended to include topics related to quantum computing and quantum
error correction. During the conference, attendees will have an
opportunity to contribute a short talk (20 + 5 min.) or to present a
poster. Prominent invited guests will deliver 40 + 5 min. presentations
related to their fields. We want this conference to be an inspiration
for interesting discussions and to enable everyone to establish new
scientific contacts and cooperation.

In the first qmeets talk, Professor Silke Weinfurtner and Dr. Patrik
Svancara from the University of Nottingham will introduce quantum
simulations of curved spacetimes around rotating compact objects like
black holes. They’ll reveal how quantum tornadoes—giant vortices in
superfluid helium—can help decode signals captured by gravitational wave
detectors, bringing us closer to understanding the cosmos.
