A 3-year fully funded PhD position is available at the Quantum Information and Foundations Group (QUINFOG) of the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas – CSIC) in Madrid, Spain. QUINFOG is dedicated to addressing fundamental challenges in Quantum Physics and Quantum Information, with a particular focus on developing innovative quantum and quantum-inspired technologies. Our team is composed of young and dynamic scientists working at the forefront of quantum science and technology.
The selected PhD student will collaborate closely with Dr. Alan C. Santos and the research group led by Dr. Juan José García-Ripoll. The position is supported by the César Nombela Fellow, funded by the Comunidad de Madrid under project number 2024-T1/COM-31530. Research topics will include, but are not limited to, Quantum Computation, Information, and Communication using superconducting integrated devices. Superconducting devices are among the most promising platforms for quantum information processing, with vast potential applications in quantum computation, quantum simulation, and quantum communication.
The student will be strongly encouraged to collaborate with experimental research groups. Candidates should demonstrate communication skills and a collaborative mindset, working effectively with researchers from diverse ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds, as well as with colleagues of varying gender identities.
