The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, building, training, and deploying machine learning models on Xanadu’s cutting-edge specialized quantum computing hardware. As part of our Quantum Machine Learning team, they will participate in multiple aspects of machine learning research and development targeted to near-term quantum devices. Other duties may include the training of traditional (non-quantum) machine learning models for comparison and benchmarking purposes.
The selected candidate must possess the ability to learn advanced scientific and technical concepts quickly and with minimal direction, and apply this knowledge to practical problems. Familiarity with quantum computing or quantum optics is desirable, but not essential if the candidate has strong technical skills and a demonstrated ability to learn new concepts.
Basic Qualifications and Experience
MSc in Machine Learning, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Solid understanding of machine learning, statistical modelling, probability theory, and linear algebra
Experience designing, building, and debugging machine learning models
