One Ph.D. position is available in the theoretical quantum optics group at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. The research of the group focuses on the implementation of quantum information processing in a wide range of systems, ranging from quantum optical systems such as atoms and photons to solid state systems. The research especially focuses on coherent interfaces between light and matter. In addition we have a smaller program on ultra cold atoms. The positions will be funded through an ERC starting grant for research in Quantum interfaces and Open Systems and will thus be part of a flourishing research environment with strong collaboration with the experimental quantum optics groups at the Niels Bohr Institute (Profs. Eugene Polzik and Peter Lodahl). For information on the group please see www.nbi.ku.dk/forskningsgrupper/kvanteoptik/english/qopticstheory/ or contact Prof. Anders S. Sørensen, anders.sorensen@nbi.dk for further questions. We seek excellent candidates and offer research opportunities at the forefront of quantum optics in a stimulating international environment with an attractive salary.
