We are looking for an internationally renowned researcher in theoretical quantum physics with an excellent track record in the theoretical foundations and technological application in quantum optics. The past and future research activities should be directed towards the development of quantum technology, which subdivides into quantum communication, quantum sensing, quantum simulation or quantum algorithms.
We expect the successful candidate to extend and strengthen the research activities at Technische Universität Darmstadt in the field of quantum optics and to participate in establishing a research focus on quantum science and technology.
Besides outstanding research activities, demonstrated by an excellent doctorate, by a habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements, corresponding teaching skills as well as the commitment to teach the full program in theoretical physics are expected. This excellence in research and teaching are manifest by an outstanding publication record as well as high level of third-party funding.
The position is tenured with a remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications, following the German “W-Besoldung” and subject to negotiations between the applicant and the university directorate. The regulations for employment are specified under §§ 67 and 68 HHG (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
