We offer 3 PostDoc positions in the group of Ludovico Lami at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, Italy, focused on quantum information theory, entanglement and quantum resources, and quantum Shannon theory.
The Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) is one of Italy’s most prestigious universities, with a long-standing tradition of academic excellence. Founded by Napoleon as a twin institution to the ENS in Paris in 1810, the SNS selects its students with a rigorous admission process, and counts three Nobel laureates and a Fields Medalist among its alumni.
The team led by Ludovico Lami is part of the larger Quantum Information Group at SNS. It focuses on various topics in theoretical quantum information theory and Shannon theory, including quantum resource theories, entanglement manipulation and quantification, quantum communication, and hypothesis testing.
These positions are funded by an ERC Starting Grant entitled “Entanglement Theory: a Quantum Odyssey — From the generalised quantum Stein’s lemma to quantum gravity,” and come with plenty of funds for travel and equipment. We are looking for candidates with strong academic performance, demonstrated by publications in international refereed academic journals and conferences, professional command of English, and good presentation skills.
