The Quantum Information and Computation Initiative (QICI) of the Computer Science Department at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) invites applications for PhD Fellowships for the academic year 2021/2022.

QICI is home to a vibrant research community, organised in two research groups led by Professors Giulio Chiribella and Ravi Ramanathan. We support an open research culture, where original thinking and academic merit are encouraged and nurtured.

Dates:

Monday, August 24, 2020 to Friday, August 28, 2020

Submission deadline:

Sunday, July 12, 2020

Registration deadline:

The Masterclass is aimed at graduate students and postdocs interested in learning about entropic quantities and their use in Shannon theory, cryptography and quantum information processing. It will include minicourses by experts in these fields and additional lectures by both local and external speakers. There will also be significant opportunities for direct interaction. The primary aim is to expose a broad audience to the latest research on some of the most important open problems in this field.

The Computer Science Department of The University of Hong Kong invites applications for a position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Quantum Information Theory, to commence on January 1st, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three year
fixed term basis, with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three year fixed term contract.

The Quantum Computing Lab in the Centre for Quantum Computation and Intelligent Systems at the University of Technology, Sydney invites applications for PhD positions. We currently have a range of scholarships available for Semester 1 2015 (commencing in the first few months of 2015).

The group "Matemáticas e Información Cuántica" started in 2006 with the aim of exploiting the relations between Mathematics and Quantum Information. Currently it is formed by 2 senior members, 7 postdocs and 3 PhD students.
Concerning financial support, the group has now a grant from Plan Nacional de I+D, one European Grant and one grant from Comunidad de Madrid.
