Workshop in Feedback in Quantum Machines

Nov 27th to Dec 1st 2023, Okinawa, Japan

Feedback control is used everywhere in today's current technologies - everyone that has noise cancelling headphones for example, uses feedback control to cancel out surrounding noise.

Application deadline:

Monday, April 1, 2024

We have openings for PhD positions in the Nonequilibrium Quantum Dynamics group at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden, Germany.

The research topics are in quantum many-body physics, and range from:

Our research lies at the intersection of many-body dynamics, quantum simulation, quantum control, and applications of machine learning in physics. We are interested in problems of both fundamental nature and immediate applications. We develop approximate analytical methods, and design numerical techniques in order to investigate different problems in quantum dynamics. We collaborate with theory groups and experimental labs to test our theoretical predictions against experiment.

Monday, September 19, 2022 to Friday, September 23, 2022

Submission deadline:

Sunday, June 5, 2022

Registration deadline:

Saturday, August 20, 2022

The school has its scientific genesis in several European projects, whose common denominator is to develop and consolidate new interdisciplinary approaches for the characterization and control of complex quantum systems.

Application deadline:

Position open for a 2-year postdoc in the new group “Quantum Dynamics and Control” lead by Aurelia Chenu at the University of Luxembourg, with starting date October 1st, 2021.

The Quantum Dynamics and Control group at DPhyMS, University of Luxembourg, investigates dynamical properties of open quantum systems and develops protocols for their control. We combine analytical and numerical tools, mainly from quantum optics and stochastic analysis, to characterize processes such as decoherence, entanglement, and excitation transfer. The systems of interests are diverse and range from single toy models to chaotic systems and natural molecular aggregates.
