The European Space Agency's Advanced Concepts Team (https://www.esa.int/gsp/ACT/) is looking for a highly motivated young researcher with an interest in quantum technology – including quantum computing, communication and sensing – and foundational questions in quantum information theory. The precise areas of research will be partly chosen by you based on your expert judgements and insight into trends and developments, and partly chosen by the team so as to follow the Agency’s strategic directions.
Multiple postdoctoral positions are available at the Institute of Fundamental and Frontier Science (IFFS), University of Electronic Science and Technology China (UESTC) located in Chengdu, China. We are looking for highly qualified candidates to participate in a research project to develop applications for near term quantum computing devices. Candidates who are broadly interested in the area of quantum information and computing are encouraged to apply. Interviews are expected to begin from February 2023 and will be conducted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

The University of Bari (Italy) is expanding its research activity in quantum information science and technology.
We welcome applications from candidates interested in any aspect of theoretical quantum information science and technology. We currently have vacancies for up to six research fellows (deadline January 4th, starting date March 1st, 2023).
Selected candidates will be hired as fixed-term researchers (3-year, a more senior position than postdoc) and will be free to decide their research activities, within a wide range of “quantum” options.
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to work on theoretical aspects related to quantum many-body physics. The research will focus in particular on:
- the investigation of non-equilibrium processes in synthetic quantum matter
- the development of protocols for novel engine cycles using non-equilibrium phase transitions
- the application of advanced numerical methods (e.g. tensor networks) to model quantum many-body engines

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented postdoc willing to join the team undertaking the "First Team" research project entitled "Integrated optics in time-frequency domain: a new versatile platform for quantum technologies", funded by the Foundation for Polish Science. The project aims at research in the field of theoretical condensed matter as well as theoretical and experimental quantum optics.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Macquarie University (MQ) in Sydney Australia is making a substantial investment to grow its research capacity in quantum science and seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate to a continuing position as Lecturer (level B) or Senior Lecturer (level C).

PhD Scholarship in the Engineering of Quantum Sensors and Networks
Physical Sciences/Other Physical Sciences
Reference: SCI020716
Salary: £25769 to £37768 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £28982 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
Fixed term.
The project is to carry out research on the equilibrium and out-of-equilibrium properties of many-body system, for example cold atomic gases, quantum optical systems or classical colloidal systems. One focus will be on the study of the emergence of correlated states and collective phenomena in the presence of dissipation and/or (coherent) driving.
