Invited Speakers

This is a fellowship scheme funded by Aberystwyth University, the Welsh Government and the European Union. It is aimed at researchers with 3-5 years post-PhD experience and comes with a 3 year appointment. To be eligible, you have to have spent no more than 12 months in the UK over the last three years (0 months is fine!), and applications can be from anywhere in the world. At the moment, I am collecting expressions of interest only; there is a two-stage proposal involved in this but chances are quite good (last year's applicant was successful) .

Four funded PhD studentships in experimental and theoretical quantum physics are available to begin in October 2017. Click here to apply.

We propose a one year postdoctoral position in our private Research Lab on Quantum Computing, based near Paris. This position can be extended to 2 years, as well as to a permanent position. We offer a competitive salary.
This position will consist in developing new algorithms for classical simulation of quantum circuits on supercomputers (HPC). More detailed description is accessible to interested candidates.

Following from the success of ONNA2013 & 2015, the ONNA2017 workshop will be held at OIST Graduate University (http://www.oist.jp) from 5-8 June 2017. The aim of the workshop is to bring together experts and early stage researchers from diverse communities who use optical micro and nanofibres for their research needs, whether it be for quantum, sensing, or other applications. The number of participants is strictly limited and will be based on application.

The Schmid College of Science and Technology at Chapman University is advertising teaching/research postdoctoral fellowships (see the advert below). The teaching portion is in our new Grand Challenges Initiative. The research component can be in any group within Schmid College, which includes the Institute for Quantum Studies. The institute is lef by Yakir Aharonov and Jeff Tollaksen, and includes faculty members Matt Leifer and Justin Dressel.

The PhD position will be available in a junior research group at the chair of Condensed Matter Theory and Quantum Information of Prof. Guido Burkard. The position should start in January 2017 (but later applications can be considered if the position is not filled by then).
