The Quantum Fluids of Light group led by Julian Schmitt at the Institute of Applied Physics, University of Bonn (Germany) is inviting applications for a PhD position. The position is funded within an ERC Starting Grant. The specific research aims are as follows:

We are inviting applications for two PhD positions on quantum dynamics in the group Qhaos led by Silvia Pappalardi.

Several questions lie at the interface between quantum information theory and the dynamics of out-of-equilibrium many-body physics. How does quantum chaos emerge in the dynamics of many particles stems? Can we use quantum correlations to challenge classical dynamics? Our group is interested in the study of many-body dynamics using tools of statistical mechanics and quantum information, in particular entanglement.

We are looking for a full-time research assistant or post-doc on the topic of Optical Engineering. The position in the Emmy-Noether group "Theoretical Quantum Systems Design" offers the possibility to work on the boundary between quantum- and conventional communication technologies, at the forefront of future communication systems design. It involves the use of programmable optical devices and also setting up a new optical lab.

We are pleased to announce the international conference titled “100 years of matter waves – Louis de Broglie conference 2023” in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of de Broglie’s founding papers proposing the hypothesis of matter waves, one of the starting points of modern quantum mechanics. The conference will take place July 3 to July 5 2023 at Sorbonne-Université (Cordeliers campus) in central Paris.

The department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University is looking to hire two postdocs in quantum information science, including but not limited to complexity theory, property testing, algorithms, sensing, and program analysis, with an expected start date in May 2023 and a duration of 1+1 years. Applicants in these areas or potentially related fields are welcome to apply. The postdocs will work closely with Nengkun Yu and Supartha Podder. The postdocs will also have the opportunity of collaborating with YITP and BNL. A competitive benefit will be offered.
