6th International Conference on Optics, Photonics and Lasers (OPAL' 2023) will coveri a broad range of topics in optics, photonics and lasers, and provide an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and present latest advancements in these areas. The Department of Physics of the Polytechnic University of Bari (Italy) is offering a fellowship in quantum information theory, for computing, metrology, and communications.

The present workshop, the eleventh in a series that started in 2013 in Cambridge, will bring together specialists and students of classical and quantum Shannon theory, of cryptography, mathematical physics, thermodynamics, etc., in the hope to foster collaboration in this exciting field of one-shot information theory and its applications. The plan is to have a modest number of talks over the course of the week. Participation is open to all.

We have a postdoc position in topological quantum computation (3 years) at our group in University of Oslo.
We are looking forward to working with someone with strong background in (any combination of) tensor categories, quantum field theory, quantum groups, operator algebras who can be independent at their research but also interact with other members of the project.
