The Quantum Information and Communications thematic group of the National Center for Theoretical Sciences, Taiwan is hiring one to two postdoctoral researchers to work on topics pertinent to quantum information and communications. The group is based at the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) at Tainan, Taiwan but maintains active international collaborations with prominent researchers from various institutions. The group is part of the National Center for Theoretical Sciences of Taiwan.

- Overview:
The Theoretical Cavity-QED Group in the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Innsbruck is looking for a motivated Postdoc to work on an exciting and challenging project. The project lies in the interface of "synthetic gauge potentials in quantum gases" and "cavity (or waveguide) quantum electrodynamics". Therefore, the ideal candidate should be familiar with both subjects and have extensive experience in both theory and numerical calculations.

The subject is the theoretical description of the thermodynamics of nanoscale systems, with a particular focus on quantum effects, the role of information, and the statistical properties of thermodynamic quantities such as work, heat and entropy production. The emphasis will be on gaining fundamental knowledge about non-equilibrium, few-body dynamics, correlations, and fluctuations in nanoscale systems where quantum mechanics plays a key role.

We are looking for extraordinary and motivated candidates for a postdoc position in theoretical quantum computing.

The position will be implemented within the group of Michał Oszmaniec in Center for Theoretical Physics PAS in Warsaw. The group is founded form the project "Quantum computers of the near future: challenges, optimal of implementations and applications" (https://nisq.eu/) awarded by Foundation for Polish Science.

A post doc position is available in the lab of Dr. Louis Bouchard at UCLA to work on magnetic resonance (ESR, NMR) projects related to quantum science. Our group has pioneered the development of magnetic resonance techniques to probe condensed matter phenomena in topological insulators, crystalline insulators, Dirac semimetals, topological superconductors, etc.  Some of these materials are now being developed for topological quantum computing.  In recent years we have also had interest in gas phase diffusion phenomena and associated non-Markovian effects.

(1) The theoretical quantum optics and ultracold atoms group led by Hsiang-Hua Jen is hiring postdoctoral researchers to investigate the subjects of quantum interfaces, non-Hermitian physics, open quantum systems, Rydberg-atom-based quantum computation, cavity-QED, strongly correlated systems, and spinor BEC. The group is based at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences of Academia Sinica (inside National Taiwan Univ.) at Taipei, Taiwan.

Job description:
The postdoc will theoretically analyze quantum non-Gaussian states necessary for quantum technology applications, derive measurable criteria for their evaluation and propose new experiments to test them in laboratories. The target is to identify sufficiently robust quantum non-Gaussian features for specific applications and suggest their preparation and verification. The new EXPRO project of Czech Science Foundation will support this activity for five years. The postdoc may collaborate with our trapped-ion laboratory (Dr. Lukas Slodicka). Prof. Dr. Radim Filip will lead the project work and will be a mentor for this position.
